On June 23 & 24, the Boothbay Harbor Region will embrace a parade of unforgettable maritime ships as they sail into the harbor for 2 days. 2009 marks the 47th year that the festival has taken place in Boothbay Harbor.
The travel website 2 Camels said, "Surviving the vagaries of fog, the economy and changing ownership of vessels, the Windjammer Days festival is a firmly anchored, highly successful and popular local tradition in Boothbay. Originally a one-day event featuring a few windjammers, it has grown to a two-day extravaganza, which includes parades, concerts, sporting events and an auction as well as the fleet of majestic windjammers complemented by impressive military vessels. Hopefully, we will be able to patronize this festival. We enjoy windjammer boat rides in other states, need to come to Maine for this one!
