Nate Ryan and Becky Riccio both love the Maine Coast. They met in college while attending University of Maine and they knew one day they would be married on the water in Maine. Nate grew up in Midcoast Maine so his father is very familiar with Boothbay Harbor. He recommended they look at Newagen Seaside Inn because of its idyllic oceanfront location. Becky and her Mom, Patty, visited several other Maine oceanfront locations but when they arrived at Newagen they knew they had found their perfect location. Becky's Mom said, "End of story, this is where the wedding will be!" They decided to have their ceremony and reception at the Inn on October 4, 2008 and what a day it was. Glorious sunshine, a beautiful sunset and stunning Maine foliage.
Being Mother of the Bride can be quite the responsibility. Especially if the bride relinquishes all of the planning. Becky's self proclaimed mantra through this process was, "Let your Mom do all the planning!'" And her Mom said that she loved every minute of it. Mrs. Riccio hired an A+ Team which included the
Boothbay Region Greenhouse for flowers,
The Coronados for music and
Beth Fitzgerald of Blush Imagery for photography.
If they could change one aspect of their wedding they would have organized an abundance of late night food on Friday and Saturday for their late arriving guests and for those night owls that wanted to eat after the dining room closed.
Most of the wedding planning proved effortless for Becky's Mom but when asked what was most challenging, her response was, "Deciding who would stay at the Inn, which rooms to assign to certain guests and reminding family and friends to call for resevations."
Some of their favorite memories from the weekend were having breakfast with all their friends and family each day, taking walks, sitting on the front porch, the lobsterbake rehearsal dinner, spending time in the pub with their favorite bartender and being on the water and watching the bride console her very emotional Father.
When asked if they had any advice for those planning a wedding at Newagen, Patty said, "Relax, let Newagen take over, stay an extra day and pray for sunshine!"

As the father of thr bride, Becky, I left the wedding planning to my wife, daughter (the bride) and Jason. It was the best thing I ever did. I will take the memories of that special and beatiful day with me to my grave. My wife did an otstanding job. Jason is absolutely the best as is his staff. I would, will and do recommend Jason and the Newagen to everyone. My only regret is that my father, who passed away on March 16, 2004, could not be there with us. It was perfect but it was the one thing that was missing for me and my mother. Again, 1000 times thank you Jason and staff.
Bob Riccio, happy father of the bride and father-in-law of the groom.

An autumn wedding is ideal for any couples seeking an intimate and warm atmosphere to their day. The season brings to mind an implication of families coming together and it's also a romantic season for a wedding. Thanks for sharing!
