Windjammer Days Update - USS Samuel B Roberts visiting Boothbay Harbor

Senator Susan Collins, who is a member of the Armed Services Committee, has announced that the Navy has committed to send the USS Samuel B Roberts to pay a visit to Boothbay Harbor for the annual festival Windjammer Days. Senator Collins has been instrumental in making the request and securing this vessel.

Senator Collins issued this statement, "I am delighted that the Navy has committed to sending the USS Samuel B. Roberts, which was built just a few miles away at Bath Iron Works. This visit is a wonderful opportunity for all us to honor the brave men and women of the U.S. Navy and the talented and dedicated workforce at Bath Iron Works."

The Fishemans Festival in Boothbay Harbor (Maine's Most Unique Event)

Where else can you watch a cod fish relay and then go to a fish fry? OR where else can you watch young kids race on lobster crates and and eventually fall in 40 degree water? Each April local fisherman and the community gather in Boothbay Harbor for an annual event to celebrate the rich heritage of fishing and boating this region has celebrated for hundreds of years. The Fishermans Festival takes place April 24 - April 26 in Boothbay Harbor.

A Dose of Tax Day Relief - Top 10 Reasons Why You Deserve a Relaxing Vacation

In consideration of challenging economic times for many we have decided to unveil a giveaway and we believe that today,Tax Day, is the perfect day to lift your spirits.

"Best Wedding Location" - A Trip Advisor Review of Newagen Seaside Inn

Recently, we discovered a heartfelt review from a wedding that took place at Newagen Seaside Inn in September of 2008. The review is full of good feedback on what went well and how they would change certain aspects if they could turn back the clock. 

Our son held his wedding at The Inn during a holiday weekend last year. Cannot say enough good things about the Newagen, its location, staff, food and goings-on.

"Perfect!" Nate and Becky's Elegant Autumn Wedding on Southport Island in Boothbay Harbor, Maine

 

Nate Ryan and Becky Riccio both love the Maine Coast. They met in college while attending University of Maine and they knew one day they would be married on the water in Maine. Nate grew up in Midcoast Maine so his father is very familiar with Boothbay Harbor. He recommended they look at Newagen Seaside Inn because of its idyllic oceanfront location. Becky and her Mom, Patty, visited several other Maine oceanfront locations but when they arrived at Newagen they knew they had found their perfect location. Becky's Mom said, "End of story, this is where the wedding will be!" They decided to have their ceremony and reception at the Inn on October 4, 2008 and what a day it was. Glorious sunshine, a beautiful sunset and stunning Maine foliage.

On June 23 & 24, the Boothbay Harbor Region will embrace a parade of unforgettable maritime ships as they sail into the harbor for 2 days. 2009 marks the 47th year that the festival has taken place in Boothbay Harbor.
