Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is the largest botanical garden in New England. Open to the public (8:30 am - 4:30 pm M-F, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm weekends and holidays) the gardens' 250 acres are a perfect get-away to enjoy the quiet magnificence of the Maine woods.
Two miles of walks, trails, and drives provide the
access to the gardens and natural areas. Along the popular Shore Walk,
you will find the Fern Garden, the Wetlands Garden and the native plant
Shoreland Garden. The Entrance Garden is host to a growing Rhododendron
collection. The Fern Trail and Heath Trails open up a world of mosses,
lichens, heaths and ferns. Be sure to check their website for special
programs and events throughout all 4 gorgeous Maine seasons.

Hi There,
I think someone from your Inn posted a comment on my blog a few months ago on a photo I took of Hendrick's Head. I tried to find your email so that I could thank you for the comment, but was unsuccessful until I stumbled upon this blog today.
I can personally vouch for the Botanical Gardens. I went there on a photo shoot back in June and was taken aback when walking through the grounds. It is so well thought-out and there is something for everyone: waterfalls, waterfront gazebo, footbridges, wooded paths...it is another world compared to what you would imagine coastal Maine to be. I posted some photos I took of the Gardens on my blog last month if you care to see.
Best,
Christopher
